Spynga’s 250 Hour Yoga Alliance Certified Teacher Training® Life on the Mat

September 2017

Our 250-Hour Teacher training curriculum will include:

  • Advance study of asana: Proper alignment, benefits and potential risks
  • Informed use of props: How to use props to improve or modify a posture
  • Human Anatomy: In-depth study of basic and advanced anatomy, internal systems, pain and how to implement this language into your class
  • Meditation Practice: Learn the benefits and essence of meditation and build your own practice using various tools and styles
  • Pranayama Study: Explore breathing techniques, their benefits and powerful effects, as well as how to teach traditional pranayama
  • Exploration of Sadhana (daily practice), Karma (action) and Sankalpa (intention)      
  • Yoga History and Philosophy: Discuss Indian philosophy, lifestyle, esoteric concept, and thought from Patanjali’s sutras based on ancient Buddhist values.
  • Science and Art of Sequencing: Principles of sequencing, how to structure a class using sequencing tools
  • Chakras: Introduction to chakras and how to teach a chakra themed class
  • Hands on Adjustments: How to safely adjust students, discussions on trauma, sensitivity and awareness
  • Subtle energy locks within our bodies and how to use them in meditation and postures    
  • Optional Kids Yoga Certification: Learn class planning and teaching strategies for 4-7 years old, 8-12 years old, and teens, age appropriate poses, breathing practices, games and relaxation techniques, developmental stages of childhood and how yoga supports motor, cognitive, emotional and chakra development
  • Core & Strength Yoga: Learn Core anatomy and how to teach “core” to students, how to safely bring weight balls into a yoga class to define, tone, and lengthen major muscles groups in the body.

In it’s eigth year, we are proud to offer Spynga’s 2015 Spring 225 HOUR Yoga Teacher Training certification program intended for students of yoga who want to deepen their practice as well as for those students who wish to become teachers themselves.
